The Lakes Distillery’s whiskymaker, Dhavall Gandhi, approaches his job with an artistic view, and 2022’s Mosaic Whiskymaker’s Edition looks set to be his most artistic creation yet, taking inspiration from the Silk Road’s east-west cultural exchange to create a multi-faceted but still truly English single malt whisky.

The Lakes Mosaic Whiskymaker’s Edition puts a different spin on the Lakes’ sherry-led style, with a lighter sherry influence complemented and augmented by what the distillery calls “carefully designed pockets of flavours from our bespoke collection of casks”.

Mosaic was bottled without colouring or chill filtration at a very drinkable 46.6% and is a limited edition of 2500 bottles, so don’t hang around too long if you want one.
