Johnny Drum Private Stock is a high-strength Kentucky Bourbon bottled by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, who are now known as Willett Distillery since the revival of their own distilling facility in 2012. Most of KBD’s releases are sourced from bourbons, predominantly from Heaven Hill and MGP.

Bottled at a palate-friendly 101 US Proof (50.5%), Johnny Drum Private Stock is an often overlooked Kentucky straight bourbon with plenty of oomph and stands up well against most other American whiskeys at this price point. Definitely one to try if you’re a bourbon fan and haven’t had it yet.

The nose is sour apple, vanilla, and oak. The palate is a snowball rolling over fruits, vanilla, and spices, mixing them all together into a well-balanced and complex whiskey.
