The third in Saint Lucia Distillers’ 1931 series of limited edition rums, which were launched in 2011 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the the founding of the Dennery distillery in Mabouya Valley in 1931. St Lucia Distillers was formed when Dennery’s owners the Barnard family merged their interests with the Roseau distillery in the early 1970s.

This third edition of 1931 rum was first released by St Lucia in 2013, 82 years after Mabouya was founded, and is a blend of 6-12 year old rums distilled on Vendome and John Dore pot stills and a Coffey continuous still. This bottle is from Batch 3A of the third release, bottled in July 2014.

The 1931 brand was absorbed into the company’s flagship Chairman’s Reserve range after the sixth release in 2016, so these early standalone 1931 rums are now highly sought after.
