Bladnoch 14 Year Old | 2022 Release 70cl / 46.7%
Bottled in 2022, this is the third annual release of Bladnoch 14-year-old from the new regime under Australian businessman David Prior, who bought the distillery from the Armstrong brothers in 2015.
As with the previous batches, 2022’s Bladnoch 14-year-old is assembled from Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks hand selected by Bladnoch’s Master Distiller Nick Savage, who joined from Macallan in 2019. Bladnoch 14-year-old is bottled at 46.7% without colouring or chill filtration and is a fine sherried Lowlander, elegant but with punchy flavours.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Fruitcake, orange oil, and polished oak.
Palate: Sherry-soaked raisins, milk chocolate, floral honey, and a touch of grassy barley.
Finish: Drying cinnamon and nutmeg spiciness, with more fruity sweetness for balance.
