A single cask of Bruichladdich’s peated whisky, Lochindaal 2009, was bottled as a 12-year-old by The Single Cask independent bottling company at cask strength without coloring or chill filtration.
The Single Cask 76 of 12-year-old Lochindaal 2009 was a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel that yielded 229 bottles at its potent natural cask strength of 61.3%. It’s great to see more indie Lochindaals coming to market nowadays now that the spirit is getting older, and this looks like a sure bet to be a fantastic whisky for the peathead Islay whisky fans.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose BBQ ribs, iodine, and treacle with honey-roasted nuts in the backdrop.
Palate earthy peat and orchard fruit take center stage.
Finish: Tangy lemon and wood ash linger.
