Darkness has taken a 5-year-old rye whiskey from Tennessee and given it a cheeky finishing period in tiny 50–60L octave casks that once held Pedro Ximenez sherry before bottling at cask strength in their standard half-litre bottles.

These small octave casks can have a remarkable effect on a whisky in a very short space of time, but the downside with such tiny casks is that they only yield a small number of bottles of finished whisky-so don’t miss out if you want to try this sherried Tennessee rye, as it won’t be around for long.
