Ezra Brooks is a good quality entry level American whiskey. It is a four-year-old straight bourbon with a high corn mashbill: corn 78%, rye 10%, and malted barley 12%.

Ezra Brooks has a long association with Heaven Hill distillery, going back to the early 1990s when HH bought the brand and sold it to the David Sherman Corporation, later renamed Luxco, who still owns the brand. As part of the deal, Heaven Hill agreed to supply whiskey to Ezra Brooks. 

The increased popularity of bourbon in the past decade or so put pressure on this arrangement, and in response to the demand for their products-which also now include the Rebel Yell, David Nicholson, and Blood Oath bourbons-Luxco built their own distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Lux Row Distillers began distilling operations in January 2018, so Ezra Brooks may no longer be a sourced bourbon by 2022.
