A fascinating MacNair’s Exploration Peated Jamaican Rum from MacNair’s Boutique Spirits, the non-whisky side of Billy Walker’s operations at Glenallachie. MacNair’s Exploration Peated Jamaican Rum was sourced from the Clarendon distillery in Jamaica and is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration.

This MacNair’s Exploration peated rum is an 86% blend of low, medium, and high ester rums aged in American and French oak casks.These rums were left to mature for 30 months and were then blended by Billy Walker and reduced to 69% before being reracked to finish their maturation in casks that formerly held peated Glenallachie.

A remarkable marriage of Caribbean, American, European, and Scottish aromas and flavours.

Official Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden Barley.

Nose: Lashings of pineapple, smoked plantains and cinnamon, with vanilla, butterscotch and smoked Caribbean jerky.

Palate: Bursting with ripe bananas, grapefruit and butterscotch, with mango, sugar cane, cocoa, ginger and vanilla.
