Bottling MezcalProducer 70cl/40
Ilegal Mezcal is an artisanal mezcal made in Oaxaca, Mexico, employing very traditional methods, including the use of a stone Tahona to crush the agave, which has been cooked in an earthen pit, giving it a strong smokiness.
Unlike tequila, many different agave varieties are permitted for mezcal production—Ilegal’s mezcals are usually made with the Espadin variety. This Ilegal reposado mezcal is aged for around four months in ex-bourbon casks before bottling and is intensely flavoured, with strong, smoky vegetal agave aromas and flavours and a minerally, oily edge.
