70cl/40cl Dominican Rum
Matusalem rum was established in Cuba in the 1870s and became a famous brand before the distillery was nationalised by Fidel Castro in 1959. The family was forced into exile, fleeing to the Dominican Republic, where the rum for Matusalem is now made.
Resurrected in 2002, Matusalem’s Clasico Solera 10 is distilled from molasses and aged initially in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred to the company’s Jerez-style Solera system. The result is a light golden rum with sweet vanilla flavours that can be enjoyed on its own, with ice, or mixed in a variety of cocktails.
