THE ITEM:

The modest Asaka distillery in Fukushima Prefecture’s Koriyama area produces the distinctive Yamazakura Asaka 2023 single malt. He started distilling in March 2016, which marked the beginning of his quest to make distinctive and sophisticated Japanese whiskies. The malted barley used to create this single malt is double distilled in a classic pot still.

Sasanokawa Shuzo, a corporation that has been making alcohol since 1765 and is best known for making sake, is the owner of the distillery.
