70cl/46% Douglas Laing
A single-cask 2012 Jura 10-year-old single malt bottled in 2022 at 46% without colouring or chill filtration by Douglas Laing for their Provenance series.
This Provenance Cask DL 15870 was a refill hogshead cask of 10-year-old Jura malt whisky that yielded 376 bottles at 46%, so if you’re fond of Isle of Jura but you’ve always wondered what it might be like unfettered by lots of caramel colouring and bottled at a sensible drinking strength, this is your chance. Spoiler alert: it’s much better…
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich oak gives way to caramel and gentle spices balanced by a touch of smoke.
Palate: Thick vanilla cream with citrus peel notes, sugared almonds and dried apricots.
Finish: A melted butter character lingers long alongside toffee and poached pears.
