This Teeling 13-year-old single-grain Irish whiskey has a very dark color, which no doubt has a lot to do with the fact that it’s been finished in Bordeaux wine barriques for a whopping four years after starting life in ex-bourbon casks.

Another contributing factor worth pointing out is that this Irish grain whiskey from Teeling has only been reduced to 50%, which should ensure there’s plenty of oomph in that wine-finished grain whiskey flavour.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: Rose water, ripe cherries, cinnamon and red fruits.

Palate: Summer fruits, berry jam, vanilla cream, soft orchard fruits with honey notes.

Finish: Spice, dry tannins, toasted oak and lingering, warm wood notes.
