The Lakes The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.5 70cl
The Lakes distillery’s Whiskymaker’s Reserve No. 5 has big shoes to fill, following on from its predecessor’s stunning win at the World Whisky Awards 2022, where Lakes Whiskymaker’s Reserve No. 4 was crowned World’s Best Single Malt Whisky, beating off competition from Glenmorangie and Kavalan, among others.
The good news is that the formula for Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.5 is much the same as the previous iteration. Staying true to the distillery’s commitment to sherry cask maturation, Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.5 has been bottled at 52% after maturation in Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso, and red wine casks of Spanish and American oak.
